RULES:           

1.  FUTURITY is open to a horse of any breed which is a foal of  2000  or later (5 years old and younger).  There is no requirement that the horse has not competed prior to any particular date and horse may have competed in pole bending futurities in prior years.

2.  SWEEPSTAKES is open to any breed regardless of year of foaling. 

3.  PROOF OF AGE for the Futurity by photocopy of front and back of registration papers if registered or original veterinarian affidavit of year of foaling if unregistered.

4.  RIDERS CAN HAVE MULTIPLE ENTRIES but no horse may enter under different riders.

5.   RUNS – Futurity will be two runs.   Sweepstakes will be one run.  If a horse is entered in both the Futurity and the Sweepstakes, the horse’s time for the first Futurity run will be the Sweepstakes time.

6.  OFFICE CHARGE will be 10% of total entry fee.                

7.  PAYOUT-Futurity and Sweepstakes is 3D, with 1 second splits.  In Futurity, 25% will be paid on each round with 50% paid on the average. Sweepstakes will be paid based on the single run.

8.  ELECTRIC TIMER will be used.  In case of timer failure backup hand times will be used for all riders.

9.  NO REFUNDS for any reason, including but not limited to illness or injury.  Substitutions will be allowed in event of horses death, illness or injury but only with original veterinarian affidavit and $50 office fee.

10.  SPBA reserves the right to cancel any class due to lack of entries.  If a class is canceled, all nomination fees will be refunded.

11.  AQHA RULES apply to the Futurity and the Sweepstakes, including dress code and 5 second penalty for downed pole or for loss of hat in arena.
