2009 Speed Zone Program

Speed Zone is a recognition program sponsored by the Southwestern Pole Bending Association for owners of pole bending horse shown in pole bending classes at selected AQHA approved shows in California in 2009. Speed Zone will provide awards to owners of pole bending horses who run certain times (with no penalties) in such pole bending classes as provided below:

TIME AWARD

25 Seconds Speed Zone Certificate

24 Seconds Logo Sticker

23 Seconds Coffee Cup

22 Seconds Baseball Cap

21 Seconds T Shirt

20 Seconds Travel Mug

19 Seconds Jacket

(For example, a horse running a time of 25.999 without penalties is eligible for the 25 Seconds award).

A horse will receive each award only one time, the first time it runs the specified time at an AQHA approved pole bending class in California; provided however that if a horse is sold to a new, unrelated owner, the new owner will be eligible to receive an award again if earned by the horse.

To be recognized, the times must be provided to SPBA by the management of the AQHA show at which a time is run. It will be the responsibility of the owner of a pole bending horse to assure that management of an eligible AQHA show submits horse names and times to SPBA. No times will be accepted if submitted to SPBA by anyone other than show management or if submitted to SPBA more than 60 days after the date of the relevant show.

Awards will awarded at SPBA sponsored events from time to time (typically the SPBA special events in Atascadero, CA) or, alternatively, an owner can elect to have the award shipped at the owner’s expense.

SPBA may maintain a exhibit of pole bending horses and owners and the current speed level of a horse. Such exhibit may be displayed at SPBA-sponsored events and other events, on the SPBA website or other websites and may be published in newspapers or magazines and may be otherwise disclosed at the discretion of SPBA.

SPBA reserves the right to revise the Speed Zone rules from time to time, to discontinue Speed Zone or to make other changes with respect to Speed Zone without notice and without liability to pole bending horse owners or exhibitors.
